Alice worked at the Shank Mill in Princeton until beginning her career at Ware Knitters where she worked as a stitcher for 21 years, retiring in 1985. She was a Communicant of St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Baileyville where she was a member of St. James Sodality, and enjoyed crafts, reading, and traveling. Alice was an active member with Senior Companion Program, visiting the elderly for over 32 years. She was the longest serving companion in the state of Maine, clocking in 10,036 hours, and never divulged her client's names. Alice was proud to have been invited to Augusta by Governor Baldacci where she received an award for her devotion to volunteer work. |
