Laurie a débuté sa carrière à l'usine de pâtes et papiers Irving en tant qu'ingénieur stationnaire. Malgré le mécontentement de son beau-père, il quitte l'usine et devient rapidement un entrepreneur très respecté, devenant ainsi un pionnier de l'industrie de la gestion des déchets. L'heureux propriétaire de Melanson's Waste Management Inc. et plus tard de Ready John Portable Toilets. Au cours de ces 28 années, il a développé de nombreuses amitiés tant professionnelles que personnelles qu'il a chéries jusqu'à sa mort. Après la vente de Melanson's Waste Management Inc., son amour de l'équipement l'a amené à se lancer dans le secteur de l'excavation, l'entreprise générale de Melanson & Son, tout en s'associant au développement des premières usines de déshydratation des fosses septiques de Saint John et de Fredericton. Laurie était passionnée et sensibilise le public à la protection de l'environnement.
Laurie began his career at the Irving Pulp and Paper Mill as a Stationary Engineer. Despite his father-in-law's displeasure, he quit the Mill and quickly became a very well-respected entrepreneur, becoming a pioneer of the waste management industry. The proud owner of Melanson's Waste Management Inc. and later, Ready John Portable Toilets. During those 28 years, he developed many friendships both professionally and personally which he has cherished until his death. After the sale of Melanson's Waste Management Inc., his love of equipment brought him into the excavating business, Melanson & Son's General Contracting while partnering in development of both Saint John and Fredericton's first Septic Dewatering Plants. Laurie was passionate, educating the public about the protection of the environment. |
