He was a retired ambulance driver at The Moncton Hospital with twenty years service.

After his retirement, he began doing carpentry work as a handyman.

Member of the Moncton Legion #6; Veteran of the 2nd World War, he served overseas with the Royal Canadian Artillery in England, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Italy.

He was wounded three times in the defense of Holland and Britain.

After the War, he served with the Reserve Army (14th Field Ambulance).
