Elzear retired after a long career with the City of Bathurst (Water Treatment Plant). His "smelt fries" and "mystery soups" will be remembered fondly by his fellow co-workers.

He loved the outdoors, gardening, hard work and a good joke. His kind, gentle, loving soul drew many good people to him. Of that he was the most appreciative. He considered having a large circle of close family and friends to be one of his bigges
