Don was a graduate of St. Thomas College, Chatham, NB, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS, and Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. He entered the Royal Canadian Dental Corps upon graduation and was a Captain in the Canadian Army durin

g World War II. He moved to Dalhousie, NB in 1947 and began his dental practice retiring in 1986. While in Dalhousie he served as Mayor from 1960-64 and was active in the Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and the NB Dental Association.

An avid sports enthusiast, Don especially enjoyed skiing, golfing, and sailing in his spare time.
