For the last 8 years Joe resided at the Veterans Centre and continued to embrace life attending all activities and always keeping busy drawing and colouring. He continued to amaze his family with his stamina and will to live.

Joe served in the Second World War overseas and returned to Canada with a war bride -- Ada Lilly, his wife (predeceased).

Joe was co-founder of the Food Depot Alimentaire and a Director with Canadian Food Bank, and had been a District Deputy with the Knights of Columbus # 1310, and a member of the Canadian Legion #6, the Kiwanis, UCT. He was involved in many organiza

tions and continually gave of his time to help others, particularly those who were less fortunate. He was recognized for his volunteer contributions by the City of Moncton and was presented the Governor General Caring Canadian award in 2005.
