He worked at Consolidated Pulp and Papermill for 40 years.

He was a volunteer firefighter with the mill and also with the City of Bathurst for many years.

He created and became Captain of the Rescue Unit and introduced the Jaws of Life to our city, which is still saving countless lives today.

Ray was an avid wood craftsman, making family and friends many beautiful pieces of furniture.

He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of Canada.
