Marven was born in Bathurst, N.B., he enlisted into the Army in 1945, after graduating from Bathurst High School. He served for 25 years in R.E.M.E., including time spent with Peace Keeping Forces in Germany and Special Forces in Egypt. Marve

n advanced to the rank of Sergeant Major before he retired in 1970, he was an active member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, serving several offices, and later, served as President of the Lions Club. Marv

en’s passion was horses and he enjoyed his retirement years on his farm raising and caring for his beloved friends. Marven also liked to travel, therefore he explored Canada from the east cost to the west coast, where he gained diverse knowledg

e and many experiences. Marven was a great story teller, who lived life to the fullest.
