After WWII moved to Saint John, New Brunswick. Doug’s love of the sea and the east coast remained with him throughout his life. A keen interest in the communications field began early with a ham radio and was to set his future career course. Dou

g graduated Saint John Vocational School and went to work for Bell. His love of technology and his inquisitive mind gave him that rare gift that he could boast that he always loved his job. He had an easygoing nature making him an approachable an

d incredibly helpful worker among his peers. Doug began work for New Brunswick Telephone in 1974 and began building his house on the Saint John River.

In 1987 he and Mary moved to Ottawa to work for Telecom Canada/SRCI and then the government of Canada where his expertise and insight were highly valued. Doug loved canoeing with his buddies and he and Mary enjoyed travel and experiencing other cu

ltures.
