Il a obtenu un baccalauréat du Collège Sainte-Anne, puis a fréquenté l'Université de Moncton et l'Université du Maine pour obtenir un doctorat en enseignement des sciences. Il a enseigné au secondaire à Saint-Basile, à Rivière-de-Loup et à Vanier à Moncton. En 1970, il débute sa carrière à l'Université de Moncton comme professeur et chercheur en biologie, environnement et y demeure jusqu'à sa retraite. Il a également été très impliqué dans des projets de développement et de recherche dans le domaine de la biologie, de l'environnement et du développement durable tout au long de sa carrière. Il a notamment été très actif dans plusieurs projets communautaires liés à ses domaines d'expertise; il a été, entre autres, personne-ressource dans un projet de la municipalité de Bouctouche reconnu mondialement comme un projet communautaire exemplaire.
He obtained a BA from College Sainte- Anne, later attended l'Université de Moncton and University of Maine obtaining a Ph.D in Science Education. He taught High School in St. Basile, Rivière-de Loup, and at Vanier in Moncton. In 1970, he began his career at l'Université de Moncton as a professor and researcher in biology, environment and remained there until his retirement. He was also very involved in development and research projects in the field of biology, the environment and sustainable development throughout his career. In particular, he was very active in several community projects relating to his areas of expertise; he was, among other things, a resource person in a project for the municipality of Bouctouche, which was recognized worldwide as an exemplary community project.
