Avant sa retraite, il était CPA, CMA. Il a eu une longue carrière en tant que directeur financier auprès du Conseil du Trésor du Canada et plus tard, comptable en chef de la Banque du Canada.

Before his retirement, he was a CPA, CMA. He had a long career as Chief Financial Officer with the Treasury Board of Canada and later Chief Accountant with the Bank of Canada.
