Capt. LeBlanc was one of the few remaining fishing skippers who operated on the Banks before the turn of the century. He took charge of the schooner "Civilian" owned by Charles d'Entremont of West Pubnico. He then sailed the schooner "Gertrude L."" for a year. Then went fishing out of Gloucester, Mass., where he had command of the "J.J. Flaherty" owned by Gorton & Pew for a period of 17 years. |
