Note		Quelques années après avoir obtenu son diplôme, Roland a servi dans la marine américaine à bord de l'USS Cascade de 1950 à 1954. Même si son service fut bref, Roland resta en contact avec ses camarades et aimait assister à de nombreuses réunions à bord. A few years after graduation, Roland served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Cascade from 1950-1954. Although his time in the service was brief, Roland kept in touch with his shipmates and enjoyed attending many ship reunions.
