Note		Peu de temps après avoir obtenu son diplôme du lycée d'Ayer en 1965, Ed a rejoint l'armée de l'air américaine et a servi comme sergent d'état-major pendant la guerre du Vietnam. Après sa libération honorable du service, il est retourné à Shirley et a effectué un service supplémentaire dans la Garde nationale. Il est allé travailler avec son père comme peintre de carrosserie au garage Landry Brothers à Shirley. Il a ensuite pris un emploi au centre médical de Nashoba Valley à Ayer, où il a travaillé pendant 24 ans comme mécanicien d'entretien avant sa retraite en 2011. Ed était membre depuis 53 ans et ancien commandant du Shirley Legion Post 183. À Shirley, il était également président du défilé du bicentenaire de la ville et chef de troupe de scouts. Ed était également membre du 4H Horse Club, de la Shirley Historical Society et du Shirley Gardeners Exchange. C'était un boulanger et un décorateur de gâteaux talentueux, il adorait faire de la motoneige dans toute la ville et aimait prendre soin des nombreux animaux de sa ferme de loisirs. Shortly after his graduation from Ayer High School in 1965, Ed joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a Staff Sargent during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Shirley and completed additional service in the National Guard. He went to work with his father as an auto body painter at the Landry Brothers Garage in Shirley. He then took a job at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, where he worked for 24 years as a maintenance mechanic prior to his retirement in 2011. Ed was a 53 year member and past commander of the Shirley Legion Post 183. In Shirley, he was also the chairman of the town's bicentennial parade and a Boy Scout Troop leader. Ed was also a member of the 4H Horse Club, Shirley Historical Society, and the Shirley Gardeners Exchange. He was a talented baker and cake decorator, loved riding snowmobiles all over town, and enjoyed caring for the many animals on his hobby farm.
