Note		Jeune homme, Normand a servi dans la Force aérienne pendant plus de 5 ans. Il a ensuite commencé une longue carrière en inspection de matériaux dans l'industrie lourde, travaillant à Montréal et finalement à Saint John pour Irving Oil, Ltd. Il y restera plus de 20 ans jusqu'à sa retraite en 1994. As a young man, Normand served in the Air Force for over 5 years. He then began a long career in materials inspection in heavy industry, working in Montreal and finally in Saint John for Irving Oil, Ltd. He remained there for over 20 years until his retirement in 1994.
