He was a retired hardware merchant, having been in business in Moncton for more than 50 years; originally with T and A Leger Ltd. and subsequently with Eastern Hardware Ltd. He attended Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also past Grand Knight and District Deputy of the K. of C. He was prominent in social circles, having been a co-founder of both the Acadian and Beausejour clubs. He was a member of the Richelieu Club and was a former member of the Rotary Club and the Moncton Board of Trade. Mr. Leger recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary.
