In his younger years he played competitive hockey and baseball in the late 1940's and early 1950's having played junior hockey in Moncton and baseball for the Memramcook Rovers. He coached minor hockey for many years in Lancaster and was an activ

e volunteer for the Saint John Christmas Invitational Hockey Tournament. Léonce worked for Tremco for over 40 years, retiring as Senior Regional Manager for Atlantic Canada. He was an active member of St. François de Sales Parish and was instrum

ental in helping the parish build its church. He was a member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club and in his retirement he had become an avid golfer, having achieved a hole in one on two separate occasions.
