John served the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years. Upon retirement he continued working as a member of the Corps Commissionaires followed by Windham World Wide for an additional 12 years. He was active with the Sea Cadets and Navy League.

John was a man who rejoiced in the simple treasures that life blessed him with throughout his years. He enjoyed most of all being outdoors and experiencing all of its beauty. Among his favorite ways to spend time were fishing mackerel out of th
