Paul left high school in 1943 to join the Army and served overseas for twenty four months in the European Theatre of Operations with the 552nd Artillery Battalion during World War II. After the war, he returned home to complete high school and att

end the University of Maine, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1950. He worked at Fraser Paper Limited as a Cost Accountant for twenty three years and afterwards, went on to work for the Farm Bureau Insurance Service

s for over twenty years. He served on the Parish Council at St. Thomas Aquinas Church for two years.
