She was a life member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, charter member of the CWL and a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and St. Vincent's Alumnae (1941).

Mary worked for T.S. Simms & Co. Ltd., in the payroll department for many years until her retirement in 1983.

While raising her children she was a depot manager for the Evening Times Globe.

Mary and Jerry enjoyed many trips to New Hampshire and Mary enjoyed numerous bus trips with her friends.

She loved her hobbies: playing cards, bowling with the Ding-A-Lings, reading, knitting and crocheting.
