In his early years, Richard worked as Stevedore on ships and was also President of their Union (CAW).

He worked in Montreal and Hamilton, putting his heart into everything he could.

In later years, Richard worked side by side with his wife as a custodian at the Evangel Pentecostal.

There he attended for 40 years and served on the board and was head usher for years.

He played guitar with a team of other musicians, singer for seniors.
