Mr. Hebert was employed by the Town of Grand Falls Police Force for 30 years. In 1984, he was promoted to the position of Chief of Police until his retirement in 1994. As a peace officer, he received the Governor General’s award for distinguishe

d service in 1985.

He was Founder and President of Toys for Joy which saw its beginnings in 1989. The same year, he also founded the annual Christmas Dinner for single people and persons with special needs. He was recognized for his volunteer services and his mind

fulness of individuals in need and harvested the fruits of his labours. He was senior good will ambassador as well as ambassador for the Alzheimer Society. He quietly helped many people in need over the years, more often than not anonymously.
