He lived an exceptional life joining the Canadian Armed Forces "Provost Corps" at an early age. As a M.P. he travelled throughout the world, to include critical missions in the Congo, Cyprus and in Germany. In his role with the Special Investigati ng Unit he assisted the RCMP and local police with special interest in illicit drugs, gang-warfare and other criminal investigations. He was a devout Catholic and joined the Knights of Columbus where he reached the rank of State Deputy. Retirin g from the Canadian Forces as a decorated Sargent, he was employed by the New Brunswick Government as a Liqour Board Inspector that took him throughout New Brunswick. Roch J. L. Larivee He then applied his many talents to help physically construct and run as owner-manager a successful licenced bar in Oromocto, Mingler's Pub, that soon became a centre and welcome place for the community it served, where he supported local sport s and other events. Always optimistic and outgoing, he entusiastically embraced all that life had to offer. He dabbled in a lot of things, enjoing a variety of sports, coaching little league baseball, farming and being a business owner. |
