Mabel met Joe Pineau in Dundee, Scotland during WWII.

They married there and she came to Canada on the Queen Mary and docked in Halifax.

She was met there by Joe and they returned to Prince Edward Island where they lived and worked.

She worked as a waitress in Charlottetown and Moncton.

They then moved to Moncton because of Joe's employment (Canadian Pacific Airlines),

formerly known as Eastern Provincial Airlines and Maritime Central Airways.
