George was the former proprietor of Richardson Fuel and in later years, was the proprietor of Richardson Electronics. He was a member of Keith Lodge # 23, F. & A.M. and a former member of The Moncton Kinsmen Club and the K-40 Club of Moncton

. He enjoyed photography, working on the computer, listening to music (instrumental), playing the trumpet in past years, socializing with his friends and spending quality time with his family.
