After graduating from Normal School in 1937, she taught at local schools in the Charlo area and later moved to Montreal to study Nursing. She married in Charlo in 1946. She lived in New York City, Saint John, Hay River (Northwest Territories), Edm

onton and Dalhousie. Along with her careers in teaching and nursing, she enjoyed family time and travel, story–telling, bridge, knitting, crossword puzzles, genealogy, tutoring new Canadians, and was involved in her church and the CWL.
