During his career he was instrumental in the creation of Contract Management Services Limited a multi-million dollar medical purchasing group for New Brunswick hospitals and nursing homes, becoming the inaugural Chairman for the 62 provincial nurs

He opened the New Brunswick office for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, was the founding President of the New Brunswick Purchasing Management Institute, President, Vice-president and Chairman of Professional Development for the PMA

C Moncton Branch and represented New Brunswick, Atlantic Canada and parts of Quebec at various times at the National level.

During his illness, Gilles authored a book A View from Above, served as President of the ALS Society of New Brunswick, founded the Support for Champions Fund for the children of ALS families and appeared before the Romanow Commission on the Futur

e of Health Care in Canada.

He was also a National Leadership Award recipient with ALS Canada, a two-time Spirit Award recipient with ALS New Brunswick/Nova Scotia and honored with a CPP degree by NBPMI.
