Il était le doyen canadien des chevaliers de l'Ordre souverain, militaire hospitalier de Malte auquel il était très attaché en qualité de chevalier grand-croix en obédience.

Durant des décennies, il s'activa bénévolement au sein des Brigades de l'Ambulance Saint-Jean au Nouveau-Brunswick.

He was the Dean in years of service of the Canadian Association of the Sovereign, Military, and Hospitaler of Malta to which he was devoted as a Knight Grand Cross in Obedience.

During decades he was also actively involved as a volunteer with New Brunswick's Saint John Ambulance.
