Avant son mariage, Marie a servi dans le Service féminin de l'armée canadienne pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.

Après avoir élevé sa famille, elle a travaillé à divers endroits, notamment à l'Hôpital Dr Georges-L.-Dumont, et comme aide-soignante et bonne d’enfants jusqu’à sa retraite à 73 ans.

Prior to her marriage, Marie served in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II.

After raising her children, she worked at various locations, including the Georges–Dumont Hospital, and as a caregiver and a nanny until her retirement at the age of 73.
