Ken was a graduate of Husson University, Bangor in Business Management.

He served in the Army as a Military Policeman and as Administrative Assistant to Brigadier General Victor L. Cary in St. Louis, Mo.

In 1973, he began his civilian career as Service Representative for Alexander Ferguson of the Maine Credit Union League Insurance Trust;

In 1986, Ken became its president.

In 1994, he became the Marketing Director for Evergreen Credit Union in Westbrook.

He was very active in business development and served as President of both the Windham Rotary Club and Windham Chamber of Commerce.

During Christmas holidays, he delighted in serving as Ken 'Motorcycle Santa' Spooner for the Chamber.
