Avant sa retraite, John a été répartiteur pour le Canadien National pendant 35 ans. Il était un paroissien de l'église St. Michael.

Il était un passionné de la marche (John the Walker), il aimait le jardinage, les travaux à l'extérieur et la lecture du journal local.

John aimait aussi regarder les parties de hockey, en particulier les Blackhawks de Chicago quand ils ont gagné la coupe Stanley en 2010.

Il aimait socialiser avec ses amis et passer du temps de qualité avec sa famille surtout avec ses petits-enfants, qu'il appuyait dans toutes leurs activités.

John was a retired CN Dispatcher with 35 years service and attended St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church.

He was an avid walker (John the Walker), enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and reading the local newspaper.

John enjoyed watching hockey, especially his Chicago Blackhawks as they won the Stanley Cup in 2010.

He enjoyed socializing with his friends and spending quality time with his family, in particular his grandchildren, whom he supported in all their endeavours.
