Noël a exercé plusieurs métiers. C'était un homme de grande compétence. Il était maçon de formation. Il a longtemps travaillé dans le secteur de la construction.

Noël a participé activement à de nombreuses activités communautaires, notamment le Festival de la poutine, la section locale des Chevaliers de Colomb et le Club Lions.

Grand sportif, son sport préféré était le hockey.
