Barb graduated from Notre Dame dAcadie Academy in 1962, and again in 1963 with a certificate in Business. For over 30 years she worked as bookkeeper for a number of small businesses, and assisted a number of individuals starting businesses in est ablishing payroll and accounting procedures. Barb was an amazingly gifted volunteer within the community, with the City of Moncton Accessibility committee in 1981, Muscular Dystrophy Association in 1995, Ability Transit in 1985 prior to its incorp oration. Barb was awarded recognition by the city of Moncton with a volunteer of the year award; in 2002, by Ability Transit and the Moncton Accessibility Committee. The Queen Elizabeth II 50th Jubilee Medal for outstanding contribution to Canada , to her community, and to her fellow Canadians. She was also awarded the Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understating and friendly relations among people of th e world. Barb served on the original premiers council on the status of disabled persons. |
