After completing school and marrying Jean, the love of his life, Dave went on to join the Bank of Nova Scotia. For 15 years he enjoyed various postings throughout the province of NS. In 1980, Dave and his family returned to his hometown of Amher

st to establish D&J's Convenience Store. For 30 years Dave and Jean operated a successful family business. He was known as the ice cream man to many and always provided ice cream to the kids on grading day free of charge for all their hard wor

k throughout the year. Prior to his retirement, Dave was in "Automotive Sales" for 3 years with Tantramar Chevrolet and Jim Henwood Auto Sales.

Dave loved all sports, especially baseball, hockey and curling. He was elected president of the Amherst Curling Club for 2 separate terms. As developer of the junior curling program, he was quite proud of the fact some of his students reached th

e provincial and national levels. Dave was also the director of the YMCA for 3 years and graced it's racquetball courts frequently.

Dave loved the outdoors and cottage life in Baie Verte. He was known as the local "Handyman" and loved to help out his beach neighbors anytime of the year.
