He was a life long resident of Saint John and was educated in local schools. Bob worked for the city of Saint John with the asphalt dept. and as a bartender at the former Sportsman's Club. Bob worked for 32 years with Irving Paper retiring in 2007

. Googie was a past member of the Adanac Club and the Buffalo Club. Bob was very active in playing pool, bowling, darts, shuffleboard and enjoyed fishing and his family.
