He served his country bravely and faithfully through two wars as a U.S. Air Force intelligence operations tech, compiler, and investigator.

He retired with honors as a T.S.G.T E-6 Master Sgt. on February 28, 1975, at Langley A.F.B., Virginia.

He then went into the private sector as a refrigeration technician with a family member's business and even did a short stint as a master machinist with Lyon's Shipbuilding in Norfolk, Virginia before finally fully retiring to Florida in 1987.
