Norman had worked over 40 years at the GE as a jet engine analyst, and retired in 1987.

A lifelong Communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church in Lynn, he was also a member of the men's choir.

He and the choir performed for Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1984.

They continued to sing at St. Mary's Parish, Salem, then at St. Mary's Parish, Lynn.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Franco American.
