Tragedy Strikes the Family:

On the 4th of April 1952 around 8 in the morning, the family's two room home caught on fire while most of the family was still in their beds sleeping.

Odilon was at work and Lionel as well as Fernande were not home at the time.

Sadly, Florida and her eldest son Raymond were the only two survivors.

Georgette, Eveline, Roseline, Patricia, Odina and Gisele did not survive.

After the fire, the remain family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Odilon and Florida adopted two children and helped look after one of their grandsons, who had down syndrome.
