David was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Service Corps for 27 years.

He served as a peacekeeper in Korea, Cyprus and Germany.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 155, Wedgeport

He was past president, having held every other executive position with that Legion.

He was a past Zone Commander for Zone 12. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6505, Wedgeport.

He was also the Msgr. W.E. Young Fourth Degree Assembly, Yarmouth.

He was a Past Grand Knight and a former District Deputy.
