Mr. Tardie served with the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW.

He was also an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Mr. Tardie was employed as a meat cutter at Paradis IGA in Fort Kent, Sleepers of Caribou and retired from the Loring Air Force Base commissary after 29 years of service.

He also owned and operated Tardie's Rolling Meat Market in the St John Valley for a number of years.
