Carl a servi dans la marine américaine pendant la guerre de Corée de 1955 à 1957 sur l'USS Forrestal.

Après son service, Carl a travaillé dans l'industrie forestière et a ensuite eu l'opportunité de devenir un partenaire commercial dans ce qui est devenu une entreprise de fournitures de bureau prospère connue sous le nom de M & S Office Products.

Carl a possédé et exploité M&S pendant 38 ans.

Tout en dirigeant son entreprise, il a également été actif dans la communauté en agissant à titre de président du conseil d'administration de la ville de Fort Kent pendant dix ans.

Au cours de son mandat de président, Carl a supervisé la création de la digue anti-inondation de Fort Kent, le district des eaux et la construction du centre municipal de Fort Kent.

Il a également fait partie du comité de construction du terrain de golf de Fort Kent.

Carl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1955-1957 on the USS Forrestal.

After his service, Carl worked in the logging industry and then had the opportunity to become a business partner in what became a successful office supply company known as M & S Office Products.

Carl owned and operated M&S for 38 years.

As he ran his business, he was also active in the community by serving as Chairman of the Board for the Town of Fort Kent for ten years.

During his tenure as Chairman, Carl oversaw the creation of the Fort Kent Flood Dike, the Water District, and the building of the Fort Kent Municipal Center.

He was also a part of the Fort Kent Golf Course Building Committee.
