Upon her return to the St. John Valley in 1945, she was employed by the Northern National Bank's Madawaska branch.

She married in 1949 and after raising her family continued her education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, earning her baccalaureate degree in library science in 1967.

She subsequently joined the teaching staff of MSAD No. 33 as district librarian and retired in 1985 after 18 years of service to the district.
